For over 25 years I have worked in a leadership capacity across many divisions of the natural resource sector, small business, consulting and government. During that time I have made the transition (quite literally) from the back woods to the board room. Thinking strategically, seeking clarity and a full commitment to achieving results has long been my professional trademark but I also draw a great deal of personal energy from seeing clients pursue their goals and achieve the unexpected. Not only do I value a job well done but I have also come to realize that results are about people. Being results-focused means being people focused and placing greater emphasis on the nature of the collaborative effort will generate even better outcomes and more exceptional results.
My experience with multi stakeholder facilitation, project management, training and strategy development has provided me with a broad perspective and an approach to finding solutions that leaves no stone unturned. When working with clients I not only draw on experience and skills that have been developed through working with diverse business teams, but I am also strongly influenced by the ‘coach approach’. A Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University and over 1000 hours of professional coaching experience have opened an entirely new way of communicating, facilitating and getting the job done. I am proud to have added these skills to my toolbox to help clients achieve their goals.
I believe in the value of cultivating connections, opening the lines of communication and finding the common threads that inevitably link the people in any organization.
I am fascinated by collaborative processes and the complex dynamics that ensue (and the results that can be achieved!) when people come together for a common cause.
I am frustrated with the knowledge that too often not enough emphasis is placed on supporting people to become better collaborators, more engaged team members and more effective leaders.
And so … my mission has become to help leaders and teams find what it takes to become willing contributors and great collaborators. Fostering engagement, creating opportunities for growth and having the tools to transform vision into results really is what gives us the edge!
